So what that I just got elected by a landslide!

Dusty Johnson wins a PUC second term in a landslide and then resigns to become Chief of Staff for Governor Elect Daugaard. Well good for him.  I think he will do a good job. However, I can't help but think this appointment was discussed as a possibility during the campaign.  A good strategy to ensure their person gets elected is to appoint Johnson's replacement.  Sets the person up for election as an incumbent. I feel disenfranchised and hoodwinked as a voter.

  1. Chris Nelson. A good, competent Republican out of a jjob. A brokered deal? I rest my case.

  2. The person who ran against Dusty should have been appointed to fill his position. He at least got votes from the public, more than you can say about Chris Nelson. Patronage, cronyism.....Daugaard is starting off as a disappointment to this voter.

  3. It's pure Pierre poltics. Probably not so different from what Huether and Smith are trying to conjure up for us "good folks" here in River City

  4. Sounds more like Chicago and the Daley Family...which is the same as South Dakota and the Republican party.

Isn't it funny how the good people of SD can cry wolf and then make sure we have a one party state house in SD. Please do us a budget saving measure and cancel the legislative session for two years. Let the 5 or 6 powerful Republicans in SD decide what we are going to do for the next 2 years and have a 2 day legislative session at the most. That is how it will be anyway. Janklow, Rounds, Daugaard,Hansen, and few select others will save us from behind the Secret Doors of Valhalla.

Let the handful of Democrats and Indies that get elected have a 2 day during the week party at Valhalla. Bring the Daley Clan, excuse me, I mean the Daugaard Posse in on the weekend and call it a short session.

    Budget Crisis Over ;)
