Poll Numbers Declining

Steve Hildebrand has confided in me that he personally commissioned the poll regarding the event center and the mayor's approval ratings. Although he would not share specific details and results of the poll, he did tell me that the mayor's approval rating has dropped 6% since last September (when he commissioned a similar survey).

  1. "I have the people of Sioux Falls on my side and common and fiscal sense and the experts on my side," says the mayor today. I guess he needs to have a copy of that poll.

  2. I took the poll and disliked the way questions were asked...this in turn scares me as to how they will word it on a ballot. It still makes me mad that Mikey thinks when and not IF there is an event center. His shove it down our throat doesn't work for me.

  3. There were two polls commissioned by different people. How do you know which poll you took? Y

  4. I have more confidence in a poll commissioned by Hildebrand than a poll commissioned by Nielson Brothers who are not professionals in this area.

  5. There are large blocks of voters who supported MMM who are completely turned off by him now. One of the dangers of surrounding yourself with "yes men" is that you are unaware of how many people are now saying "no."

  6. Much agreed on the final entire "yes men" comment.

  7. My guess is that the number will continue to fall...antics such as arguing with small business owners who call him out for breaking campaign promises and having your daughter cheerlead your event center resolution will not sit well with voters. What a sham - a complete disregard for the process and total disrespect of the council.

  9. Apparently, a comment from the Mayor's daughter, who attends an out-of-state college, is supposed to counter-balance the testimony of all of the young professionals who spoke so eloquently and who have relocated their families and invested their futures in Sioux Falls.

  10. Daughter Huether' s performance was extremely low class.

  11. Even if it was her idea to testify, the daughter, he and his wife should not have let her for all the reasons that are now flying around. No gain, pain for her.

    Bad decision.
